TWINS FOR BRAD & KATE!
They’re back together and overjoyed to be expecting TWO bundles of joy!
When expectant mum Kate Hudson visited her doctor to have an ultrasound recently, sh she was thrilled to discover she’s expecting not one but two babies!
As Woman’s Day revealed last week, the 38-year-old actress is just over four months pregnant.
While there was at first some doubt over the paternity of her impending arrivals, friends say Kate is now certain that Brad Pitt is the father.
Given the 53-year-old actor has a history of multiple births in the family – he and ex-wife Angelina Jolie have nine-yearold twins Knox and Vivienne – it’s not all that surprising he and Kate are expecting two little bundles of joy. And Brad couldn’t be more excited to be a dad once more!
“When she broke the news to Brad he was stunned,” an insider close to the pair says.
“He never expected to become a dad again, at least not just yet – and not to twins! But he knows it runs in the family after all, so it’s not a total surprise he might have another set on the way.” Brad and Kate reportedly began seeing each other secretly in November last year, before things fizzled out in March. The actress began dating new partner Danny Fujikawa, 30, just weeks later, but friends say the romance between Brad and Kate was rekindled after they learnt they’re expecting twins. “Although things had cooled down between them and the pregnancy was a total surprise, the baby news has brought them closer together,” says our source. “Brad is being so sweet and attentive. She never had any doubt he is a wonderful father and these past few weeks have proved it to her.”
TEN KIDS IN TOTAL!
Kate already has two sons – Ryder, 13, with ex-husband Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes – and Bingham, six, with her ex-fiance, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy.
Brad has six children – Maddox, who’s 16 this week, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 11, and the twins – with Angelina, from whom he separated last September.
Currently the pair are negotiating custody agreements and Brad has already been forced to tell his ex-wife his big news.
“Angelina was very surprised,” says the friend.
“Brad readily admitted it wasn’t planned and was all a bit of a shock.”
Another person shocked by the news is Brad’s good friend George Clooney.
When a dazed Brad confided in George, who recently became a dad to twins himself, George was convinced Brad was playing an elaborate joke!
FRIENDS IN SHOCK
“George thought Brad was pranking him – even when Brad offered to send a photo of the ultrasound,” says the insider. “But now the news has sunk in, they’re talking about having daddy days out together in the park.”
Kate is also anticipating plenty of happy times with Brad once their babies arrive. “Kate can’t stop smiling,” says the insider. “She feels very comfortable with Brad and she has to pinch herself that they’re having twins together.
“It’s still early days yet for them and there are no plans right now to make any big announcements. They’re just trying to adjust to their new circumstances.”
BRIGHTER FUTURE
It’s been a tough few months for Brad after he publicly admitted his problems with alcohol and confessed to the role he played in his marriage breakdown, so friends are delighted to see the baby news has given the Hollywood heartthrob a new lease on life.
“It’s certainly taken his mind off Angelina and his custody battle, and it’s put a spring in his step,” says our source.
“He seems like a man with a purpose again.”
