STROBING

The dos and don’ts

-

Strobing is a huge trend that’s all about creating a gorgeous glow. Just like highlighting, it involves using pale shimmery shades to enhance the high points of your face – the tops of your cheeks, Cupid’s bow, chin and down the centre of y your nose. Stephen Adderton of Adderton Cosmetics explains. .

Do AVOID DARKNESS

Unlike contouring, strobing seeks to enhance features using only light – not light and dark. So, it uses highlighters to bring features forward. Using bronzer or darker colours can leave a muddy result. TRY Adderton Sheer Glo Lotion in Movie Star $55

Don’t OVERDOSE ON HIGHLIGHTER

It can leave an oil-slick look, which will accentuate open pores, congestion, unwanted facial hair or any fine lines.

Do APPLY GREAT QUALITY PRODUCTS – LIGHTLY

A heavy hand can leave a frightening finish. TRY Adderton Cheek & Eye Highlighter in Icing Sugar $45

Don’t APPLY IN STRIPES

A streak or spot of highlighter right on theth bridgeb id e of the nose or across the cheeks will only make your nose look larger, or make you look like a pixie.

Do BLEND WITH A BRUSH

Use a soft blush brush. It allows you to blend the product into cheeks, nose and brow bones, rather than apply just one streak! TRY Bourjois Sculpt Light Strobing Highlighter $25
