The country singer has been spotted with a stunning mystery woman – and Nicole is not happy
Usually all smiles, Nicole Kidman looked strained but defiant as she touched down in Sydney with her two girls last week, with her husband Keith Urban staying in the US. Now Woman’s Day can exclusively reveal the truth behind her tense display: Keith has been spotted with another woman – again. Woman’s Day has obtained exclusive access to photos of Keith, 49, hugging a mystery redhead – who looks strikingly like a young Nicole – at the California Mid-state Fair, just before he was due on stage.
It’s not the first time Keith has been photographed with other women, and he was famously linked to his American Idol co-star Jennifer Lopez in 2014.
Now the shots are thought to have reignited tension in the pair’s marriage, just when Nicole thought all that trouble was behind them.
“Nic is so angry with Keith, which is why it’s good for her to get away for a while,” a long-time friend tells Woman’s Day. “She doesn’t want to be anywhere near him right now. She feels humiliated, and she’s not sure how much more she can take.
“Sure, Nic may look calm on the outside and she’s getting support from her family, but she must feel like she’s at the end of her tether. It seems he’s gone back to his old ways.”
Onlookers were shocked to see Keith so close to another
woman. “There were other people around, but they only had eyes for each other,” a witness says. “Keith touched her tenderly on her back. They definitely seemed comfortable together. I actually thought it was Nicole at first. They look so similar – she could’ve been Nic 15 years ago. If I was Keith’s wife, I wouldn’t be too pleased about it.”
When Keith took to the stage soon after, he praised his support act Lauren Alaina, 22, calling her “beautiful” and inviting her to perform a duet.
“Keith can’t help himself,” says a friend. “He loves his wife – that’s obvious – but he also thoroughly enjoys receiving attention from beautiful women. I don’t blame Nicole for keeping him on a tight leash.”
Nicole put on a brave face for the red carpet at the Australian premiere of her new series Top Of The Lake: China Girl last week.
Fans fear Keith’s insensitivity of late may explain her gaunt appearance at promotional events in LA just before she flew out. She grew worryingly thin in 2015, when Keith was seen with a blonde at a San Francisco hotel –and with singer Kelsea Ballerini backstage. And she was scarily skinny in 2014 amid rumours of an affair with Jennifer Lopez.
“Nic is not happy,” says her friend. “She always loses her appetite when she is having a bad time. There seems little doubt she feels miserable right now. It’s certainly not the first time!
“She’s supported Keith through all his troubles and turned a blind eye to his indiscretions. Everyone marvels at the success of their marriage, but the cracks are starting to show.”
