SHOCKING FAMILY FEUD EXPOSED

BARRY HUMPHRIES

-

With his purple rinse, pointy glasses and “hello, possums” catchcry, flamboyant Barry Humphries – aka Dame Edna Everage – has made a career out of making people laugh, but his art-dealer son Oscar doesn’t seem to be smiling, claiming the comedian cut him out of his will!

Insiders say the relationship between Barry, 83, and Oscar, 36, a former drug addict, has deteriorated in recent years. However, few realised things had become so bad that the Aussie entertainer might block Oscar – one of his four children – from his $14.9 million fortune.

Oscar revealed on social media last week that he’s dropped his illustrious surname in favour of his middle name Valentine. “Changing my name. F*** you for disinheriting me … I never wanted the little bit of money anyway. Liberating after the shock.”

Oscar – who once had an affair with Jimmy Choo shoe tycoon Tamara Mellon when he was 22 and she was 35 – was reportedly informed of the decision at a party to celebrate his engagement to art lover Sophie Oakley, 36.

Barry has declined to comment, while Oscar has since claimed the post was just an “in-joke with a friend”.

An actor, author, artist, national icon and former alcoholic, Melbourne-born Barry has walked down the aisle four times. He married first wife Brenda Wright when he was 21, but their union lasted less than two years, and he has two daughters, Tessa and Emily, from his relationship with second wife Rosalind Tong.

Oscar and his brother Rupert are the children of Barry’s third marriage to Diane Millstead.

Barry now lives in the UK with his fourth wife, Lizzie Spender, the daughter of British poet Sir Stephen Spender.
