Woman’s Day (Australia)

SURVIVOR’S JONATHAN LAPAGLIA

-

What can we expect from the challenges? The contestants give it their all, with some of the closest battles we’ve ever seen. What do you enjoy most about filming? The unpredictability. With every new cast a totally different game evolves. Any downsides? Being away from my family for three months. Like with any child, things are changing rapidly with my daughter [Tilly] and I really want to be around as much as possible to be part of that magic. Were there any touchand-go moments on set? A tropical storm came through and we had to stop filming for five hours because the lightning was so close. That was hairy! Do you feel differently going into series two? Yes. Older and more tired. Could you ever take part? I like to think I’d be OK physically, but I really have no social skills. I’d upset someone and be voted out early! Can we expect to see another love story like Lee and El from 2016? I’m the last to find out about stuff like that. Have you caught up with anyone from last season? I caught up with Kristie, El and Lee at the Logies. Walking the red carpet with them was a mistake though. The photographers kept pushing me out of the way to get a shot of them! What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done? Day one of with 20-plus cameras rolling. Survivor Have you had any neardeath experiences? The closest was getting caught in a rip at Bondi. The surf rescue team yanked me out. SURVIVOR, Sundays & Mondays, 7.30pm, Ten
