Fans of Bindi Irwin know the Aussie star best for her beaming smile, unfaltering family bond and fairytale romance with boyfriend Chandler Powell. But she lashed out last week, posting an emotional message on her Instagram feed, revealing she’s been betrayed by a “toxic person”. “Hold on to positivity. Stay true to you”, wrote the heartbroken 19-year-old alongside the handwritten note, inspired by energy healer Jill Blakeway’s well-known quote that speaks to people trying to control you. Now with Bindi keeping quiet on just who betrayed her, it begs the question – who, or what, made her snap?
TERRI IRWIN
They’re usually joined at the hip, but shortly after Bindi’s post, mum Terri retweeted her message on Twitter – perhaps as a way of apology. It’s well-known that Terri, 53, is entwined with Bindi’s affairs, both professionally and personally, and earlier this year Woman’s Day exclusively revealed how Steve Irwin’s late wife wanted to put a stop to Bindi’s dream of landing her own newlywed newlywed-style style reality TV series with boyfriend Chandler. “Terri is freaking out at the thought of Bindi rushingrush into marriage and having kids – and regretting it later”, a s source reveals. It’s no secret that Chandler has had concerns about Bindi growing ever closer to her best friend Luke Reavley. And now with the couple’s relationship increasingly strained after a series of public spats over the past few months, Chandler may have gone overboard in proving he’s committed to the Irwin tribe. Is he suffocating Bindi, who it’s said is starting to wonder about his motives? Just last week, Chandler revealed he had a crocodile namednam after him at Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve, describing the day as one he w will “remember for the rest of my life”. But in a telling move, Bindi, who would usually acknowledge such a momentous occasion on Instagram, failed to post anything about the day.

The person most likely to be in Bindi’s firing line? Her grandad, Bob Irwin Senior, who she’s been estranged from for years over an alleged family feud. In 2015, Bindi explained how Bob had chosen to “distance himself” after her father’s untimely death, and even rejected presents from the family. Last year, in a TV interview, he revealed he’d like to eventually reconnect with Bindi and her younger brother Bob. But with sources saying he’s made no attempts to reconcile, could Bindi be frustrated that her grandfather is continually airing the family’s dirty laundry?

He’s been a family friend of the Irwins for years, but with rumours of Russell and mum Terri’s relationship running wild, could the actor have overstepped the mark? Last month the 53-yearold wished Terri a happy birthday on Twitter, and later he described the mum-of-two as “one of the greatest women I’ve ever met”. In May, Bindi – seemingly embarrassed by the rumours about her mum’s love-life – was forced to deny the romance.
