Pomp & pageantry
Harry willill bbe ttakingki ththe reins for the traditional nuptials at Westminster Abbey. To honour the palace and the public, he’s hoping for a ceremony that’s just like Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge’s big day – only a little less formal. His bride is likely to be dressed by British-italian designer Antonio Berardi and she’ll have the option of arriving by horse-drawn carriage. “Harry is a real people person and he can’t wait to show off Meghan tto ththe crowdsd liliningi ththe route,”t” a palace aide involved in the wedding planning reveals.
Celebrities likely to attend are those close to the royals such as Kylie Minogue and Sir Elton John.
“The London wedding will have all the pomp and circumstance you’d expect from a royal bash,” the palace planner adds.
“They’ll play everything by the book when it comes to Harry’s family. There is no way they want to rock the boat.”
Wine lover Meghan has her heart set on tying the knot for a second time at the Greengate Ranch & Vineyard, a rustic former horse stables just out of LA, which is surrounded by mountains. “She always thought it would make a great wedding venue, since before she even met Harry,” her wedding planner tells Woman’s Day exclusively. Meghan’s LA wedding dress will be far more casual than her gown for the UK wedding, and her favourite flowers – pink peonies – will be everywhere. Her best friend Lindsay Roth will be bridesmaid – Meghan stood alongside Lindsay at her wedding last year – while Harry’s mate Guy Pelly will be best man. Even Meghan’s dogs Bogart and Guy will be there, playing ring bearers.
Celebrity guests – including Meghan’s Suits co-stars and actress Margot Robbie – will be entertained by Ed Sheeran and James Blunt.
“Meghan wants the California wedding to be a chance for all her friends in Hollywood to meet her new royal hubby. She’s taking great pride in making it very personal.”
