It’s nearing 365 days since Brad Pitt was last seen in public with the six children he shares with his estranged wife Angelina Jolie. After the breakdown of the couple’s marriage on September 18 last year, which saw the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services called, Brad has only been allowed to see his kids in the company of a therapist. It’s been a lonely time for the A-lister, who has since admitted to problems with alcohol. So when Zahara, 12, and nine-year-old Knox were spotted getting on a plane to visit their dad in LA last week, it no doubt came as welcome news for Brad, who has been working hard to make himself a better parent for his children. “I gotta be more for them,” he admitted recently. “I have to show them. And I haven’t been great at it.” A celebration was in order for Brad, but the reunion was also bittersweet. While two of his kids were en route for a visit, siblings Maddox, 16, Pax, 13, Shiloh, 11, and nine-year-old Vivienne remained firmly by their mum’s side.

Daughters Shiloh and Vivienne in particular appear to have sided with their mum in the bitter divorce battle.

And in recent weeks Angelina, 42, has been snapped enjoying fun days out with her girls.

It’s a luxury Brad can’t enjoy given the current custody arrangement, which dictates he is unable to see his children unsupervised – a ruling that remains indefinite for now.

“Brad’s adjusting to life post-angelina, and he’s starting to settle into a groove, but he misses the kids so much still it hurts,” a source said recently.

“It’s like Brad has this huge heaping void in his life that he just can’t fill.

“He lives for the chances he gets to Skype with his kids – they truly are his everything.”

Meanwhile, Angelina is continuing to stay mum on the couple’s divorce negotiations, insisting the split has been difficult for the kids, for whom she is doing everything she can to remain strong.

“I do not want my children to be worried about me,” she has said.

“I think it’s very important to cry in the shower and not in front of them.”
