together again

Arriving at a photocall for their new film, Our Souls At Night, at the Venice Film Festival, Jane Fonda and Robert Redford glowed with happiness.

As they made their way down the red carpet, the Hollywood heavyweights were clearly enjoying being back in each other’s company, 38 years after they last starred as onscreen lovers.

Jane, 79, and Robert, 81, first appeared together more than 50 years ago in 1966’s The Chase, then played newlyweds in the 1967 classic Barefoot In The Park. And now a cheeky Jane admits she was rather taken with her hunky co-star all those years ago.

“I couldn’t keep my hands off him,” she says of her leading man.

And she hasn’t shied away from intimate scenes with Robert in their latest film either. “I live for sex scenes with him,” she adds. “He’s a great kisser. It was fun to kiss him in my 20s and then to kiss him again in my almost 80s.”

According to the two-time Oscar winner, love and sex only get better with age.

“Because, first of all, we’re braver – what the heck do we have to lose,” she says. “So my skin sags. So does his!”

Jane says she “constantly forced” herself on Robert during filming for Barefoot In The Park. But given the handsome actor is not only the star, but a producer of their latest film – and cast Jane as his leading lady – it looks like he didn’t mind!

“I wanted to do another film with her before I died,” he joked to reporters last week.
