MKR cocaine scandal
Former My Kitchen Rules contestant David Vu fled Sydney last week, seeking solace in Bali as he awaits sentencing for drug charges.
Earlier this month, David pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine. In August, the 33-year-old – who appeared on MKR with good friend Betty Banks earlier this year – was caught with the drug, after police searched him in Sydney’s Double Bay. He confessed to buying it in a nightclub.
David is now expected to complete a MERIT assessment program, which targets defendants with a demonstrable drug or alcohol problem who are eligible and suitable for release on bail, and who are motivated to engage in treatment and rehabilitation. He is expected to return to court this week.
