He was declared bankrupt in June after blowing his $167 million fortune, but Boris Becker’s wife says she’ll fight to the bitter end to save their marriage.

Speaking for the first time since the tennis champ’s failings were made public, Lilly, 41, says she’s staying strong for the sake of their seven-year-old son Amadeus.

“Listen, of course this is a challenging period. It is hard and difficult. And yes, I had the fright of my life,” Lilly says. “But we’ve promised to be true to each other in good times and in bad. We must fight for each other, for our family. I don’t want Amadeus to grow up in a broken family.”

Lilly and Boris, 49, who married in 2009, sparked rumours their marriage was in trouble when Lilly travelled to Ibiza with a girlfriend in June, leaving her husband to fight his financial troubles on his own.
