Harry’s message to the world The dashing prince wants everyone to know that he’s ready to marry Meghan
If you look up the word “devoted” in the dictionary, you’re likely to see a photo of Prince Harry with his girlfriend Meghan Markle.
Last week, much anticipated photos of the couple’s first official appearance together at the Invictus Games in Toronto made the depths of the prince’s affection for his rumoured fiancee evident to all. Not only did Harry, 33, lavish love on the Suits actress, holding her hand and cosying up to her, he looked completely relaxed about doing so in the full gaze of the public.
For her part, 36-year-old Meghan was equally at ease,
donning ripped jeans and an oversized blouse – a decidedly unroyal outfit – as if declaring to the world, “This is who I am, and I won’t be changing.”
What was most striking about Meghan’s outfit, though, was that she wore a shirt named “The Husband” – a clear signal that an official engagement announcement is imminent.
“These things are planned in advance, as it’s not easy to roll out that kind of news,” a palace source says. “Everyone knows how happy Harry is and how much he’s looking forward to the day it’s announced.”
Another insider confirms: “Harry has cleared his diary of ofmany many royal engagements because he wants a clear run to the wedding.”
With Kate and William’s third child due in April, 2018 is shaping up to be a very big year for the royal family.
MEGHAN ON THE MOVE
“Harry and Meghan will be getting married next summer – soon after Kate has her third child,” a royal source reveals. “And you can expect two absolutely gorgeous children to be following Meghan into the church – page boy Prince George and bridesmaid Princess Charlotte.”
And with increasing indications that Meghan is getting ready to move to London – she hasn’t renewed her Suits contract, and hasn’t taken up other roles – it seems that an engagement announcement has never been closer.
Aussie royal watchers are hoping the couple will choose to have their honeymoon Down Under. Harry is known to have great affection for Australia, and Meghan was seen to be proudly wearing a toy koala gifted to her by a Coffs Harbour family, the Lawlers, whom she met at the Games.
“They had an awesome chemistry,” says Kylie Lawler. “They seemed at home with each other.”
