MAKE YOUR OWN BUTTERFLY HAIR BOW

With our expert tipstips, your little girl can have a bow just like the A-list!

-

Step 1

Take 2 x 22cm lengths grosgrain ribbon, ends sealed with a lighter. Lay one out horizontally. Measure 4cm from end of left side of one ribbon. Pick up right side and fold down as shown. Place a hair clip at top of folded edge to hold in place.

Step 2

Fold your ribbon on folded edge to make a point. Use short length of ribbon on top as your centre and measure 4cm from that edge. Fold your folded edge back to create a point with flat end of your ribbon sitting on top of the other flat end.

Step 3

Gather centre of your bow and thread a needle with knotted thread through centre and tie up tight. Repeat each step with second length of ribbon. Once you have two double-pointed ribbon ends, join by stitching them at the centre.

Step 4 T r s W g a t

Take an extra 9cm of grosgrain ribbon and use a hot glue gun to stick it to the back of your bow. Wrap ribbon around your bow, hot glue it to back and trim ribbon. Then attach it to a hair clip, let it dry then pin it in your daughter’s hair.
