Why is Jack always sick?

-

AMANDA SAYS Jack comes through and tells me he’s about 15 years old and has been with Janine for the past 12 years. He’s very proud about being a three-day eventing horse and has won many events.

Jack’s been sick for the past few years. I see his back legs are in pain and he’s picked up several viruses. Whenever he starts to recover from one virus, another appears. At the moment, he’s really unwell – it feels like arthritis, but it’s affected all of his muscles.

These viruses have seriously attacked his immune system. But he knows Janine is doing all she can for him, and he tells me how much he loves and appreciates her.

Jack has a beautiful personality and wants Janine to know he still wants to be ridden sometimes, even though he’s unwell.

The last virus he got lasted about two years and he shows me a lot of coughing. But he doesn’t let his poor health get to him. JANINE SAYS I saw Ama Amanda in Woman’s Day and knew I had to contact her about Jack. I needed someone like her to tell me what was wrong with him, as I couldn’t figure it out.

What really blew me away was when Jack mentioned the pain in his back legs and the viruses. He’d always been a top horse and then, all of a sudden, he was a very sick horse.

My relationship with Jack has definitely gotten stronger. He was always there when I was down, now it’s time for me to repay the favour. Jack deserves all the attention he can get.

I’m happy I got in contact with Amanda. Now I know how to treat him and get him back on track.
