The five golden rules of watering

-

1 Water your plants early i in the morning or late at nig night when evaporation is minimal. If your plants suffer from fungal problems, water them in the morning. Aim the water at the base of the plant rather than the leaves. The flow will reach the roots quicker and prevent the plants from burn burning during the day.

2 Collect as much rainwater a as you can in a water tank, as it c can be used in times of drought. Additionally, the chlorine levels in natural rain are much lower than the tap – your plants will love you for it.

3 In most cases, it’s better t to water less often but with more water, rather than a sprinkle every day. This method of irrigation teaches roots to grow deep in the soil. But your vegies still need to be watered daily.

4 Take care of your mature t trees. They provide great struc structure in your garden. If you lose one, it could take decad decades to replace it.

5 If you’re time poor, you d don’t need a complicated i irrigation i system. A simple tap on a sprinkler head will ensure your plants get a drink.
