Jen & Justin drift apart
After living separately from Justin Theroux for almost six weeks, Jennifer Aniston is staring down the barrel of a shock divorce – and leading celebrity divorce lawyers predict it could be the nastiest split in Hollywood history.
At the time Woman’s Day went to print, the pair hadn’t been seen together in public since October 1, with friends fearing the worst for their short-lived marriage.
“Jennifer has had enough. She and Justin haven’t functioned like a married couple for almost a year,” an insider tells Woman’s Day exclusively, confirming their marriage is on shaky ground.
“She feels like she’s been the one keeping the home fires burning at their Bel Air mansion. Justin takes every opportunity he can to get out of there, whether it’s to film in Europe or a road trip through Texas with the boys,” says the source, adding Justin finds married life stifling. “He seems determined to get away at every opportunity, which enrages Jen. She wonders why he even bothered proposing in the first place.”
LA VS NEW YORK
According to the insider, friends believe the couple’s differing views over where to live will be their final undoing. “Jen is an LA girl through and through and she can’t stand New York, but Justin prefers it the other way around. They’ve reached a stalemate over which city to call home.” If Jen, 48, and Justin, 46, are headed for a divorce, insiders say Jen will do all she can to ensure she walks away with her $261 million fortune – a staggering $235 million more than her husband’s net worth of $26 million – intact!
PRIVATE SETTLEMENT
Leading Hollywood lawyer Neal Hersh, who ironically represented Brad Pitt in his 2005 split from Jen, tells Woman’s Day most celebrities prefer to keep their settlements private. They usually split all assets acquired during the marriage 50/50 – unless either side of the party starts playing dirty, which is often the case.
“There could be a thousand reasons why a celebrity divorce turns messy. There’s no usual thing that causes people to become upset,” he says.

allegedly did during her split from Brad Pitt last year, all bets are off. “Once you use the media, the advantage is lost. The shot has been fired,” he says.
Those close to Jen say the last thing she wants is a public showdown, like Brad and Ange’s messy meltdown. She’ll also do everything she can to keep her split from Justin – who she married just over two years ago in August 2015 – under wraps.
“If they’re about to divorce, there’s no doubt Jen will want it all to go as smoothly as possible,” another friend says.
“She’d definitely want to iron out the terms in private before they even file. She knows once those papers are filed before the courts and made public, it’ll be a free for all. And they need to present a united front.”
