My friend Claire is married to a man named Lee who has several restrictive rules around his eating habits. So the two of them have established a kind of kitchen oath they call “Lee’s food rules”. For example, you can’t have salad for dinner. A sandwich isn’t dinner, either. An omelette doesn’t constitute a meal. Breakfast food like poached eggs cannot be consumed for lunch or dinner. And the list goes on. So I’m thinking Lee may find our spring salad feature rather confronting, as it showcases the latest in salad trends (think nachos salad!) which could be served for either lunch or dinner, and hence become quite a test of their marriage. Note to Lee: Do not turn to page 38!
