The actor’s girlfriend debuted her baby bump and friends say they’re thrilled
Much-loved British actor Rowan Atkinson and his girlfriend Louise Ford are expecting their first child together – within weeks!
They hid their pregnancy for months, and despite the initial shock Woman’s Day can reveal father-of-two Rowan and actress Louise, 33, are thrilled to be starting a family together.
“They weren’t trying for a baby, but Rowan and Louise are delighted,” says an insider.
“Louise has always wanted children of her own and didn’t know if that was going to happen for her. She was very emotional when she found out,” reveals the source, adding the comedian was unsure about becoming a dad again at 62, but has come around.
“He was nervous at first about being an older dad, and not having as much energy to keep up with the baby, but he’s in decent shape and is determined his age won’t hold him back. Now he’s just as excited.”
The Blackadder star, who rose to fame playing endearing character Mr Bean, is already a father to Ben, 23, and Lily, 21, from his previous 25-year marriage to makeup artist Sunetra Sastry.
Rowan met Louise in 2013 when they both starred in a play. The loved-up pair have been in a relationship since 2014, getting together shortly after Rowan split from Sunetra. They plan to raise their baby in their North London home.
