Woman’s Day (Australia)

MEGHAN’S REAL-LIFE CUPID

-

While the pair have kept mum on her identity, Woman’s Day can reveal the woman who introduced Harry to Meghan by setting them up on a blind date last July.

Fashion designer Misha Nonoo, 31, is believed to be the mutual friend who brought the newly engaged couple together. Insiders say she became close to Meghan after they holidayed together in Europe in 2016 and used the opportunity to introduce her to the handsome prince, who she’d known for years via her then-husband Alexander Gilkes, an old schoolmate of Harry’s from Eton.

Unbelievably, Meghan – who grew up in the US – had little idea about Harry and his role in the royal family. She had just one question. “I said, ‘Well, is he nice?’” she recalls. “Because if he wasn’t kind, it just didn’t seem like it would make sense.”

Having never watched Suits, Harry says he didn’t know who he was meeting so he asked Misha to fill him in on everything about Meghan to be prepared for the drinks date.

“I was like, ‘Right, OK, give me a bit of background, like, what’s going on here?’” he says. “I’d never even heard about her.”
