Princess Mary shocked by friend Amber Petty
The royal draws a line with their friendship as Amber embraces a raunchy new interest
They were meant to be there for each other through thick and thin, but Princess Mary has been left with no choice but to dump her long-time best friend Amber Petty after various embarrassing revelations – the most recent being Amber’s involvement in Australia’s sex industry.
In what was no doubt the final straw for Mary, 45, in terms of their friendship, Amber excitedly told her blog readers she’d met a new “world of people” after attending the Australian Adult Industry Awards – and even went on to share an interview she had conducted with a porn star.
“It may sound a little like I have sex on the brain,” Amber wrote. “...I did have because I was invited to the Australian Adult Industry Awards by Ms Fiona Patten. It was there that I discovered a world of people whose role it is, in their own unique ways, to provide the sexual stimulation that we Australians need, and also the services and products that we consume.”
Princess Mary has stuck by Amber, 47, over the years. In June, the former radio host even described the princess as “very loyal” and denied her friend had an issue with her new love of witchcraft. But it’s thought this new information has left the palace reeling.
Even before Amber’s latest escapade, tensions were fraught between the pair, with reports Queen Margrethe asked Mary to distance herself from her friend. Though she has always been a huge part of Mary’s life – she was a bridesmaid at Mary’s 2004 wedding to Prince Frederik and has often been spotted with the princess on her visits back home – sources told Woman’s Day they were drifting apart after Amber began to embrace spirituality.
“[Mary] is a Dane through and through now, and Danes don’t have the tolerance for such nonsense. Their lives are poles apart now,” an insider said of the pair.
