He was once heralded as the king of the court but nowadays tennis star Lleyton Hewitt and his wife Bec are making names for themselves in a different way – as king and queen of the freebies!
Just last week the sportsman had some fun spruiking Lego he’d accepted for son Cruz.
“An early Christmas present and some quality time with this champion,” wrote Lleyton alongside a photo on Instagram, which he tagged sponsored. “Who remembers ripping open their @lego on Christmas morning and building it with your family?”
Fans were quick to comment on how “lucky” son Cruz – who turns nine this week – was to have such an “amazing” dad like Lleyton.
It isn’t the first freebie the star has bagged. Last month, in return for what was likely a free suit for the Melbourne Cup, Lleyton, 36, plugged menswear brand Calibre Australia online.
Meanwhile, Bec shared some snaps of seven-year-old daughter Ava on a bike she’d received from BYK Bikes last December, and both she and Lleyton posed for photos with tins of Nestle’s Milo on their respective social media pages – despite criticism from fans.
“Every rising sport star needs a snack that is nearly 50% sugar!” commented one follower.
And it’s not just online where the pair are wielding their celebrity influence – they’re rarely spotted out in public unless it’s to represent a brand.
Earlier this year, Bec, 34, enjoyed a day out at the National Gallery of Victoria’s House of Dior Exhibition on behalf of Mercedes-benz. The couple also happily attended the Melbourne Cup as guests of Lavazza.
With all their free swag, it seems Christmas has well and truly come early for the Hewitts!
