Meet Australia’s oldest Santa!

-

“I love what I do do, but people say the most surprising things things. Adults can treat me like a priest, asking for my advice and wisdom – one even asked for a new set of teeth! Then you get the older kids who just want to cross-examine you about how you get from one place to another in just 24 hours!

“Initially I wore a fake beard, but it became quite punishing after six hours and I sweated a lot. So I grew my own beard and now everyone likes to have a little tug.

“I had a boy called Jack who just wanted his dad back f from the war in Afghanistan. Then out popped his dad from b behind the Christmas tree and it was a marvellous reunion!

“Another time, a bride and groom came straight from the c church to have photos with me because they were such fans of Christmas. To very sick children asking for their health ba back, sometimes all I can say is, ‘I’ll see what I can do.’

“The best part is seeing kids run back to their mums and dads, fill filled with joy and hope. You know you’ve done a good job. The hours are gruelling but I love seeing all the happy children, wit with their laughing eyes. This really is the best job going.”
