What Christmas gift do you get a princess-in-training who has everything? Luckily Prince Harry has nailed the ideal present for his fiancee Meghan – a new pooch to join them in Nottingham Cottage!

Meghan was devastated she was forced to leave her beloved labrador-shepherd Bogart behind with friends in Canada after he was deemed too old to fly.

And while she did bring six-year-old beagle Guy to the UK with her, Harry knows Meghan has a dogshaped hole in her heart.

According to palace sources, the prince has now chosen the perfect canine companion for his beloved bride-to-be.

While Harry has never owned a dog himself, in part due to his constant travelling while in the military, insiders say he’s excited to have a new four-legged friend join the family.

“Harry has been waiting until his circumstances made it practical to have one,” says royal biographer Penny Junor. “He loves [dogs].”
