bout a year ago, my sister Berna came over to organise my kitchen cupboards. As a certified Type A personality it was her idea of pure joy. As a Type B who likes to think of myself as a Type A, it was a dream come true! Anything that hadn’t been used for 12 months was binned. Anything without a lid or beyond the expiry date was gone. At the end of the day, let’s just say dinner involved Googling “tinned beetroot recipes”! Ever since, though, I’ve kept the shopping to a minimum, become a much better pantry cook (or so I tell myself), and waste a lot less food.
