His new relationship with co-star Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 33, has caused outrage. And now Ewan Mcgregor is facing the music with his children as he officially files for divorce from their mother, and his wife of 22 years, Eve Mavrakis, 51.

“It's a difficult time, not just for Eve but also for the kids,” an insider tells Woman’s

Day of the reaction his four daughters Clara, 21, Esther and Jamyan, both 16, and six-year-old Anouk have had to the 46-year-old actor's new romance. “The older girls feel really protective of their mum and are being supportive of her.”

Esther in particular is said to be furious at her father, penning and performing an emotional song called Made You A Man, which she shared on her social media account.

“Seeing those pictures, they're making me cry. Happy birthday to me — am I right?” she sings in what is thought to be a clear reference to Ewan being snapped kissing his younger lover in public. “I don't know how to forgive. I don't know if I can. Ruining me sure made you a man.”

While Esther insists the song is “not a slam but a way of expressing [her] feelings”, our source says the tension is clear for all to see.

“Ewan probably hasn't handled going public with Mary in the best way, and now it looks like it's putting a big strain on the whole family,” says the insider. “It would be really sad if his relationship with his daughters ended up being seriously damaged over this.”
