INSIDE ED’S SECRET PROPOSAL
Having fallen head over heels for his high school crush Cherry Seaborn, a smitten Ed Sheeran has popped the question, announcing his upcoming wedding in a sweet Instagram post.
“Got myself a fiancee just before the new year,” Ed, 26, gushed alongside a cosy snap of the couple. “We’re very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well.”
According to friends of the English singer, the proposal was simple yet romantic, with Ed presenting Cherry, 25, with her engagement ring one lazy morning at his $1.6 million Suffolk country home.
“They’d been talking marriage for months, but it was a total surprise to Cherry. She loved his proposal. It was very heartfelt, simple and low-key, just like their relationship,” a source tells Woman’s Day.
Ed and Cherry’s friendship became something more when he asked her to be his date to mate Taylor Swift’s Fourth of July party in 2015.
“They’ve known each other since high school, but when things turned romantic a couple years or so ago, Ed became a changed man,” spills an insider.
“He can be himself around her. She knew him before he was famous and she likes him for himself. Ed has found his soulmate.”
