The images of Taylor, 26, cavorting with Sasha, 10, and Sam, nine – giving them hugs and piggybacks – reduced Naomi, 49, to tears, one friend says.
“Naomi got quite tearful,” our insider says. “They’re her sons, and to see them with another woman was like a dagger through her heart. And what made it worse was the fact the young beauty queen is the spitting image of her… but 23 years younger!”
Naomi was so distraught, she placed a call to Liev, 50, to remind him to respect the boundaries they’d set around dating publicly for the sake of their two young children. After a heated discussion, which saw Naomi hang up the phone on her ex-husband, Liev eventually called to apologise for his lapse of judgement, friends say.
“He said he’s sorry and he totally understands where Naomi is coming from,” says the source. “If the situation had been reversed, he would have struggled to cope. He’s promised he’ll be more sensitive in the future.”
