food fight: “We feared for our lives”

We’re told things got so heated between siblings Jess and Emma and friends Roula and Rachael, the Sydney sisters demanded they stay in a separate hotel to the Melbourne girls during the MKR home visits round, to avoid the possibility of a physical confrontation with their competitive rivals.

“Jess and Emma really did fear for their lives,” a show insider tells us, adding things got really serious when Rachel, 21, and Roula, 34, made on-screen jibes about the sisters’ weight, cosmetic surgery and intelligence. In the end, Jess, 31, and Emma, 38, felt like an altercation could erupt during the show.

“Jess was texting me saying she was desperate to leave the show,” the source says.

And despite Seven booking them into separate hotels, the sisters still felt the clash was a risk. “They felt the network did nothing about the conflict and continually put them in the same vicinity during filming.”

While speculation is rife Jess and Emma got the boot – since Seven confirmed an all-girl team leaves the show after a physical altercation with a male team – our source says it’s not them.

“Of course everyone is going to assume it’s them because they’ve had surgery and they’re not afraid to speak their minds, but it wasn’t them,” reveals our source, adding the sisters are completely different in real life to how they’re being portrayed on the show. “They’re great girls and don’t deserve what’s happening to them.”ter Roula and Rachael dished out some nasty barbs.
