They’ve been reconnecting for months and now he’s making the ultimate commitment
They say you never forget your first love, and for Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston has always been the one w who got away. But after quietly reconnecting with his first wife in recent months, Brad’s now gone all-out to prove his commitment – by proposing to Jen for the second time!
In exciting news for fans of Hollywood’s former golden couple, sources tell Woman’s Day Brad has never been more certain about what he wants for the future – and that’s for Jen to be his wife again.
“They had a quiet dinner together recently and Brad felt like it was the right time to propose,” our insider reveals exclusively. “He didn’t make any big, romantic gestures or anything – he just laid his heart out for Jen and told her that she’s still the one for him.”
To mark a fresh start for their love, he presented Jen with a simple canary yellow sparkler – more understated than the extravagant, swirling diamond engagement ring he gave her back in 1999 when he first popped the question. Needless to say, she was thrilled.
LASTING LOVE
While W Jen was deeply hurt by her divorce from Brad all those years ago, those close to the pair say the flame has well and truly been reignited in recent months, w with Jen, 49, turning to Brad in her time of need late last year. As Woman’s Day revealed, the pair secretly reunited at the Beverly Hills Hotel Hot and, more recently, went public pu at a low-key dinner date with a group of friends at LA LA’S Soho House – just like old times! “They “They’ve both chang changed a lot since they divorced, bu but they still have th that emotional c connection,” another close friend reveals. “There was so much love between them – and t that doesn’t ju just disappear for forever.” Indeed, after his nasty – and dramatic – split from Angelina Jolie in late 2016, , lonely Brad, 54, found himself reminiscing more and more about how good he really had it with Jen – and after they reunited in December, he knew very quickly she could make him happy once more.
BRAD’S REGRET
“He’s telling people he had no idea how precious and simple those days were with Jen, and now he’s older, he’s craving them again,” the friend says.
Just last month, Brad’s former bodyguard Kris Herzog told Woman’s Day the respectful actor has been going to great lengths to be discreet about his renewed romance with Jen, despite her marriage to Justin Theroux allegedly being all but over.
“They’ve been spending a lot of time together. Brad absolutely adores Jen,” Kris said. “[But] he’s been doing everything he can to keep the peace.”
Still, it seems only a matter of time before the two can officially announce their engagement, with sources revealing to Woman’s Day in January Jen and Justin have been separated for some time, with Jen even contacting divorce lawyers.
SHARED PASSIONS
Indeed, with Justin, 46, choosing to stay in New York as his marriage ends, Brad’s taken the opportunity to plan a series of “dates” for him and Jen in LA – without putting pressure on her to officially announce their relationship.
“Brad loves art, and he took her for a private tour of the Broad museum in LA on a quiet Sunday recently when there was no one about to spot them,” says our source. “Jen loved having Brad talk her through all the pieces, and now he wants to show her his own sculptures, which he’s been working on at a small studio in East LA.”
And it seems Brad’s lifelong love of architecture has also been rubbing off on Jen, who invited Architectural Digest into her Bel Air home recently and revealed, “If I wasn’t an actress, I’d want to be a designer.”
It’s sharing these common interests with Brad, as well as nostalgia about their past, that’s making Jen think that this time their love really could last the test of time.
“She always used to envisage Brad coming crawling back to her and now it’s happening,” adds the insider. “This is not about revenge on Ange – she’s genuinely enjoying his company and thinks maybe there’s a future there after all.”
