Harry’s left furious as his fiancee’s half-sister gives a scathing interview
Prince Harry is preparing to leap to the defence of his embattled fiancee as her wayward family members threaten to destroy her fairytale royal wedding. Following her half-sister Samantha Grant – who has chosen to revert to her original Markle surname since Meghan’s engagement – giving a controversial interview to A Current Affair last week, palace sources say an incensed Harry has had enough. Speaking from her Florida home, Samantha, 52, told ACA reporter Lauren Golman she believes Meghan isn’t doing enough to help their embattled
father Thomas, who lives in Mexico with only a few hundred dollars to his name.
“Honestly, you know, what she could spend in a weekend would help my dad. If you can afford $75,000 for a dress, you can afford $75,000 to help your dad,” she snipes.
ATTACKING CRITICS
It’s said to be this interview that finally saw Harry, 33, snap, following months of scandal from his wife-to-be’s family, who appear determined to destroy Meghan’s love story.
After releasing a statement in a bid to protect Meghan, 36, from the constant criticism she was facing while making the transition from actress to princess, palace sources say Harry’s now planning to give a televised interview of his own. He wants to issue stern words against anyone trying to cash in on Meghan’s fame.
“Harry has a temper on him, especially when people mess with his loved ones. And he stormed straight to his press office demanding they set up an interview with the BBC immediately,” says an insider. “His advisers are waiting until he calms down a bit before they agree to organise it – the palace has a ‘no comment’ policy, but Harry is struggling to toe that line right now.”
