WHY THE SPICE GIRLS REALLY REUNITED!

The world’s biggest girl band caught up last w there are many theories why – here are some of them!

-

1 More pop!

“Such“Shag re at day !!” Victoria Beckham, 43, posted about the first Spice Girls catch-up in six years, which included their former manager Simon Fuller, to help them “explore some incredible new opportunities together”. Although the former pop group haven’t revealed what those opportunities are, there are rumours of a tour, greatest hits album, a TV talent show and a “girl power” record label.

2 Royal wedding

The spicy reunion comes just months before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot on May 19 – coincidence or planned? Apparently, Geri Horner (Ginger), 45, heard Meghan was a big Spice Girls fan back in the day and wants to offer to perform at the royal wedding reception. Well, the girls did meet Prince Charles during their heyday!

3 Rallying around Mel

During her nasty divorce ordeal from Stephen Belafonte, Mel B (Scary), 42, turned to her friends for support, and sources say this may have been the motivation they needed to make a reunion happen. “They’ll always have a special bond, so it’s no surprise Mel would lean on them during her time of need,” an insider tells Woman’s Day. And when she shared the sweet pic from their catch-up at Geri’s house, Mel wrote, “These amazing women have helped me become who I am. So to all the girls out there remember, ‘Friendship never ever ends’.”

4 Posh’s reinvention

Just last year, Victoria insisted a reunion was “not happening”. But after lengthy negotiations – and a supposed guarantee she wouldn’t have to sing – she finally said yes! And there’s been a lot of talk over time that Posh has finally realised if she gives the world what it really (really) wants, it can only help her image. “She wants to reinvent herself and she can see a reunion is the perfect way to do it,” our insider says. “Victoria knows she has a reputation for being a total snob, and she wants to prove she’s nice and approachable.”

5 Beckhams in trouble

With her 18-year marriage to David Beckham, 42, said to be in trouble, Posh may have finally agreed to a Spice Girls reunion in a bid to distract herself with work. Rumours have been swirling for months the fashion designer and Becks are heading for a divorce, and there’s even talk he’s been texting model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. With drama at home and her business running at a loss of $14.8 million last year, it makes sense Posh would want to throw herself into a new project – with her close friends by her side.
