PHILLY STEAK ROLLS WITH FRIES

MAKES 4 PREP 10 MINS COOK 10 MINS PER SERVE 3193kj

2 tbsp olive oil, plus 1 tsp ex­tra 1 onion, sliced into rings 4 x 100g minute steaks 4 bread rolls, split 80g rocket leaves 1 tomato, sliced oven fries, to serve (op­tional)

SAUCE

20g but­ter 1 tbsp plain flour 1 cup milk 125g cream cheese, soft­ened 1 cup grated tasty cheese In large fry­ing pan, heat oil on medium. Saute onion 6-8 mins, stir­ring oc­ca­sion­ally, un­til golden brown. Re­move from pan and set aside.

2 SAUCE Mean­while, in a medium saucepan, melt but­ter on high. Stir in flour and cook, stir­ring, 1 min. Re­move pan from heat and blend in milk un­til smooth. Re­turn to heat and cook, stir­ring, un­til mix­ture boils and thick­ens. Sim­mer 3 mins. Mix in cheeses, stir­ring un­til melted and smooth. Sea­son to taste.

3 Heat same fry­ing pan on high. Brush steaks with ex­tra oil and sea­son to taste. Sear 1 min each side un­til cooked to taste. Re­move from pan. Rest, loosely cov­ered with foil, 2 mins.

4 Fill each roll with rocket leaves, tomato slices and steaks. Top with onions and sauce to serve. Ac­com­pany with oven fries, if liked.
