Ready to become queen

Woman’s Day (Australia) - - Celebrity News -

With Henrik’s passing, Mary is now steeling herself for the possibility of stepping up to the role of queen consort, with speculation mounting that the queen is preparing to hand over the throne to her son Prince Frederik.

“Margrethe has insisted in the past she will never abdicate, but Henrik’s health turmoil over the past year has taken a huge toll on her,” says our source, adding, “Palace aides are quietly working behind the scenes to prepare Frederik and Mary for taking the throne at any time now.”

If Mary and Fred, 49, are indeed preparing to step up, it will be a welcome move as far as most of the Danish population are concerned. While there is great respect for the queen, royal watchers in Copenhagen tell us the people of Denmark have great confidence in Fred’s ability to rule, largely because he has his ever-loyal and very hardworking wife by his side.

Mary and Fred are ready to rule, should they need to.
