J ovi Pilapil was excited about her new life as a single mum. “New year, new beginnings!!!” the 39-year-old agedcare nurse posted on New Year’s Day 2016,6, alongside a photo of herself smiling.
Having separated from her violent husband Alexander Villaluna two months earlier and successfully applied for an AVO against him, she set up a Tinder account ready to hit the dating scene. After matching with divorced father Keith Collins, 53, and chatting for a week, they arranged to meet at the Kangnam BBQ restaurant at Westfield Hornsby on March 30.
But the date turned in to a sickening bloodbath when composed Villaluna tracked the couple down, stabbing Irishman Keith to death with a hunting knife and slashing Jovi.
During the stabbing, Jovi begged, “Stop, we are just having dinner!”
She fled the restaurant and hid in a shop upstairs while Villaluna calmly walked up and down the shopping centre’s concourse before police arrived at the scene.
Villaluna pleaded guilty to murder and grievous bodily harm and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.
Villaluna killed Jovi’s date Keith (above left).
