DOUBLE DECKER STEAK SANDWICHES
SERVES 4 PREP 10 MINS COOK 15 MINS PER SERVE 3555kj
30g butter 2 tbsp olive oil 2 onions, sliced 4 mushrooms, thickly sliced 1 clove garlic, crushed 8 minute steaks 4 slices tasty cheese, halved 8 slices sour dough bread, toasted
1/ cup egg mayonnaise tomato, rocket leaves, to serve
1 In a frying pan, heat butter and half oil together on high. Saute onion 4-5 mins until tender and golden. Add mushrooms and garlic. Saute 3-4 mins until tender. Season to taste.
2 Preheat a chargrill pan on high. Brush steak with remaining oil and season to taste. Cook steak 1-2 mins. Turn over and top with a piece of cheese. Cook 1 min.
3 Spread half of toast with mayonnaise. Top with steak, onion mixture, tomato and leaves. Season to taste and sandwich together with remaining toast.
TOP TIP For a sandwich with the lot, add some canned beetroot slices and fried egg.
