The Aussie star reveals her new metallic locks and some hair tips

-

Much-loved TV personality and singer Dannii Minogue has undergone so many hair transformations, we’ve lost count. While in Melbourne for the L’oreal Professionnel Colour Trophy Award grand finals, WD’S Health and Beauty Editor Elise Wilson stole five minutes with the pop star.

How did your hair transformations start?

We began changing my hair to blonde in January last year. I feel like it works so well because I always wanted to do something different with my hair, and L’oreal is always able to do it.

Why should we be avoiding ammonia?

Using a product like Inoa’s No Damage Colour means you’re not inhaling or being exposed to chemicals like you used to. In fact, by using it, your hair isn’t getting worse when it’s being coloured – it’s actually making it better! I remember back in the ’ 80s when hair snapping and frying was normal, but with HD cameras we can’t get away with that anymore.

What has been your favourite hair colour over the years?

In the ’ 90s I loved my super-long blonde hair, but the roots had to be touched up every 10 days. Now a lot of my colour choices are based around what’s manageable. I want to spend nd my time with my son rather er than in the salon.

How do you maintain your colour now?

My hair is highly coloured, but I tone it between salon visits. I use a silver shampoo quite often and leave it in for a while to get the really cool tones. But if you don’t use the right products at home, it’s not going to last. L’oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Silver Shampoo $29

What’s your no-hassle hair hack?

I love the good old ’ 80s scrunchies, and I use L’oreal Smartbond Treatment. L’oreal Professionnel Smartbond Step 3 Conditioner $45 Lady Jayne y Large g Scrunchy hy $8.29
