With his flaming ginger hair and spot-on vocals, you would be forgiven for thinking Josh Cooper is related to British singing sensation Ed Sheeran.
But it turns out, he’s just his littlest biggest fan! Since watching the singer perform his single Perfect on TV last year, three-year-old Josh has learned almost every word to all of his songs.
“He talks about Ed like ke he is part of the family,” mum m Sheri, 32, tells Woman’s Day. “When he noticed that Ed also has red hair, he developed a connection with him, and now looks up to him as his role model. Josh always wants to wear the same kind of clothes and shoes as Ed, too.”
The pint-sized popstar ar spent months practising g Ed’s tunes twice a day before he built up the courage c to start performing on o the streets around his home in i Bondi, Sydney. Strumming on his miniature g guitar, Josh has earned more than $ $50 50 from two busking sessions – and he’s already alre bought a m microphone just j like his idol’s. “Josh studies studie Ed’s p performances very intently so he c can an sing exact exactly like him,” Sheri sa says. ays. “Lately, h he’s noticed that b before every concert, c Ed takes a photo of the crowd, so now b before Josh sings sin he tells us all to o get behind him and he p pretends to snap sn a photo!” Now, Josh has h started nagging h his mum and dad Mark, 36, for the ultimate ultimat fourth birthday present this th month – to invite Ed t to their home when he plays in Sy Sydney so they can jam together. “He always talks about it and says, ‘How cool would that be, Mum? Do you think Ed would sing with me?” says Sheri. “He’s just ju so cute!”
