A shock announcement has left the rest of the royal family in disarray
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is making her most aggressive push yet to topple Queen Elizabeth from the throne – and in a move that will shock royal watchers, Woman’s Day is told Prince Charles supports his wife’s cunning plan!
In a subtle move that has sent shockwaves through the palace, 69-year-old Charles has changed a section of the Clarence House website to remove a statement that explains his divorcee wife will be titled “Princess Consort” when he becomes king.
Sources now speculate the original wording, which was first published 13 years ago when Charles and Camilla said “I do”, has been quietly scrapped – and that Camilla, 70, has finally been successful in her attempts to be named queen.
“Camilla has always been sore over the fact that royal protocol stipulated she couldn’t be titled queen when Charles becomes king. She feels she works terribly hard for the royal family and absolutely deserves the title,” a palace insider reveals.
“She’s now turning her efforts to convincing the Queen to step aside and allow her and Charles to take the throne – immediately!”
While Her Majesty has long insisted she’ll never abdicate, royal sources say that at 91, and with her husband Prince Philip, 96, retiring due to failing health, she’s reconsidering her options.
“Camilla has insisted she and Charles are ready and willing to take over,” tells our source. “And

I look forward to many more years of building on the important work that has already been achieved to date.”
But a source adds this is all code for Charles’ real plan – to take over from his mother.
“Make no mistake, they’ve done this to allow him to focus on being King of England,” our royal insider says.
“Camilla is positively cackling over how her plan is coming together. She’s finally getting everything she ever wanted.”
