COLIN’S PAIN OVER WIFE’S AFFAIR WITH ‘STALKER’
C olin Firth’s marriage is in crisis after his wife of more than 20 years admitted to having a fling with a man she now claims is stalking her. The British actor, 57, was forced to reveal that he and Livia Giuggioli, 48, had secretly separated “a few years ago”, prompting her to start an 11-month relationship with her old friend, Italian journalist Marco Brancaccia. Police are investigating claims Marco has been sending her “frightening” messages since she reunited with Colin.
“Mr Brancaccia carried out a frightening campaign of harassment over several months, much of which is documented,” the couple, who share sons Luca, 16, and Matteo, 14, said in a statement.
But while Marco, 55, admits he sent Livia two Whatsapp messages and emailed Colin after she ended things, he maintains he “never threatened” them.
“She filed a complaint against me for stalking out of fear that I could go public with what she had revealed to me about her marriage and work,” he claims.
“In a year she sent me hundreds of messages of love, photos… she wanted to leave Colin for me.”
