Unreal’s Shiri ‘OUR SHOW HAS STRUCK A NERVE’
Reality dating shows are the hottest genre on TV screens right now, so it’s no surprise Unreal has viewers hooked!
Returning for its third season, the hit US drama goes behind the scenes of the fictional dating show Everlasting to unveil the lengths producers go to in order to create the juiciest storylines. Each character also has its own ongoing real-life dramas to contend with as well.
“I really had no idea how extreme things were behind the scenes of reality shows,” explains actress Shiri Appleby, 39, who plays reality TV producer Rachel Goldberg.
“I think Unreal has lifted the curtain quite honestly,” says Shiri, whose character has the power to manipulate everyone around her.
“The last few years we’ve met so many people who have starred on reality shows and told us this is their story, and say the show was written about them.
“I think our show has struck a nerve and I’m excited to see how the fans will react to this season.”
