Try some of the UK’S best food. Simon Rogan’s L’enclume in Cartmel – where sticky toffee pudding was invented – was crowned UK’S best restaurant four years in a row. There are also some great gastro pubs, such as the Drunken Duck Inn, so named when beer spilled into the duck feed. The landlady plucked the passed-out ducks thinking they were dead, then knitted them coats when they revived. Or so the story goes...
