Fortune eggs

Forget the cookies – get your Easter party started with eggs that snap open to reveal your fortune!

-

1 Buy plastic Easter eggs, which can be pulled apart, and coat them in chalk paint. Choose a paint colour similar to your egg to avoid having to do lots of layers. Two coats of paint usually provides good coverage.

2 Once dry, give the painted egg the tiniest squirt of gold spray paint to add a speckled effect (see tip).

3 Fill both sides of the egg with coloured paper shreds or even confetti.

4 Roll up your pre-made fortunes. You can write them by hand or print them out from your computer.

5 Gently push your egg halves together – you’ll hear a little click when it’s shut. Now share them with friends!
