HARRY’S SECRET CALLS TO MEGHAN’S DAD
He ruffled some feathers by suggesting for his wife-if-to-be, the royals are “the family she’s never had”. But as the wedding day approaches, Prince Harry appears to have mended fences with his soon-to-be father-in-law Thomas Markle Sr.
According to UK reports, Harry has forged a bond with Meghan’s dad through regular phone calls to the 73-year-old, who lives a reclusive life in Rosarito, Mexico.
“Tom thinks he’s a great guy,” a source reveals, adding that Harry calls him “regularly” to discuss the nuptials.
For weeks, there’s been speculation over which members of Meghan’s controversial family will score an invite to her special day at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, but last week, insiders confirmed that Meghan’s dad has made the cut.
“Thomas was thrilled to see the invitation land in his postbox,” confirms a source. “He is well aware he’s not usually the type to get invited to events like this, given he’s fled bankruptcy in the US and is hiding out in Mexico, but nothing is going to stop him watching his little princess become a real-life royal.”
While Thomas Sr and his ex-wife, Meghan’s beloved mother Doria Ragland, made the list, Meghan’s half-sister Samantha Grant, half-brother Thomas Markle Jr and her nephew Tyler Dooley were shunned from the wedding of the year.
