George and Amal Clooney at least partly made good on a promise to attend a protest against gun violence in Washington, DC – but it was what they were hiding that had everyone talking!

The couple had originally promised to bring nine-monthold twins Alexander and Ella – and everyone expected the couple to be loud and proud as they voiced their support for the high-schoolers.

Instead, the babies were nowhere to be seen, and onlookers report Amal – who hadn’t been spotted in public for weeks before the event – was “subdued”, kept covered up in a heavy jacket and seemed as though she may have been unwell.

And, after speaking with sources close to the couple, Woman’s Day can report that speculation is rife among their inner circle that Amal is expecting baby number three!

“She would have only just found out,” reports our insider. “She’s probably feeling pretty vulnerable right now being at such a highly politicised event about violence. There was no way she was backing out of an event she supports so strongly, but it makes sense that she ultimately decided to leave the babies at home.

“If Amal is pregnant again, there’s no doubt she and George would be overjoyed. They’ve never known such happiness since becoming parents to Ella and Alex, and they love the idea of going again!”

George, 56, and 40-year-old Amal welcomed their twins in June last year, but have kept them hidden for most of the past nine months in an effort to maintain their privacy and give them a “normal” start to life.
