MAN, I FEEL LIKE A WOMAN

Wood, leather, spice and all things nice – delve into new androgynous perfume trends

TREND 1 MAKE IT YOUR OWN

According to Coty’s fragrance expert Mary Hayward, the focus of fragrances of today are less about gender and more about individuality. “In fact, many female perfumes are appearing more masculine in their notes than ever before,” says Mary. “A fragrance is an opportunity to express and craft your own signature scent.”

TREND 2 BREAK THE RULES

Who said women can’t wear men’s cologne? According to Mary, it’s becoming all the more popular to layer hearty notes usually found in men’s cologne, like cedarwood, spices and leather accords. “By ‘weaving’ one over the other, you can create a very special and unique aura,” she says.

TREND 3 STEP OVER THE GENDER DIVIDE

Mary recommends trying the male version of your current female fragrance as an easy entry point. Spritz the men’s version underneath to step out of your comfort zone without going the full suit and a tie.
