Woman’s Day (Australia)

Behind The Scenes

-

With their nuptials just five weeks away, royal biographer Katie Nicholl shares her expert insights into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship, what we can expect from their wedding, and when they’re set to start their family…

Why did Harry fall for Meghan?

She’s very beautiful, incredibly talented, and he said he knew he had to up his game the moment she walked into the room. There is a clear attraction between them and the fact they have so much in common and share the same goals in life sat so comfortably with Harry. He admires that she uses her fame to help people and sees a genuine philanthropic streak in her. How important is it to Harry that he honours his late mum Diana? From the day he lost his mother Harry has been determined to make her proud and continue the work she never got to finish. He has always done his best to keep Diana close, whether it’s living at Kensington Palace or continuing her legacy, so I’m sure we will see Diana remembered somehow on the wedding day – whether it’s in the speeches or something Meghan wears. Harry would not let such an important day go by without acknowledging his late mother. When can we expect another royal baby? Once they’re married and have carried out their first royal tour – they’re attending the Invictus Games in Sydney in October – they will likely come home and enjoy Christmas, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there was an announcement before their first wedding anniversary! What kind of father will Harry be? He would be a wonderful father – he is very genuine and endearing with children. He is a great uncle and loves spending time with George and Charlotte, and for a long time he has wanted children of his own.
