Nicole’s on-set meltdown and what’s behind the tears

The actress’ marriage troubles with Keith are taking their toll

She should be focused on filming her hit show Big Little Lies, but a clearly distressed Nicole Kidman is now struggling to deal with her ongoing marriage dramas at work as well as home.

Between takes on the set in Monterey, California, Nic was spotted looking visibly upset – and an industry insider reveals the cause was a heated argument she’d just had with husband Keith Urban over the phone, reducing her to tears.

The on-set source reveals to Woman’s Day, “She was trying not to cause a fuss, but people around her could hear she was really telling Keith off about something or other.

“She hung up, then started sobbing and pacing around.”

For months, there have been reports that Nic and Keith, both 50, are on the brink of divorce, having endured constant fighting and various failed attempts at couples counselling.

Just last week Woman’s Day revealed the couple are on the brink of making an official divorce announcement.

“Nicole was a mess,” the insider says of her on-set meltdown. “Her team and co-stars like Reese [Witherspoon] were doing everything they could to comfort her, but she was so upset and wanted to be left alone for a while.”

The source adds the actress has admitted the stress of the situation with Keith has started to take its toll. “Nicole says she’s hardly been sleeping and can barely eat at the moment.”
