Meg Ryan’s family feud

The star’s estranged family just want her to end their feud

-

Rumour has it, Meg Ryan is planning her wedding to long-time partner John Mellencamp. But the actress’ side of the guest list is looking pretty light on, with family members revealing she’s still cutting herself off from them in a 27-year-long feud.

“I follow in the paper what’s going on with Meg,” her 80-yearold father Harry says of being estranged from his famous daughter. “Is she back with John Mellencamp? It would be wonderful [if they got married].”

The rift between the 56-yearold rom-com star and her family is so wide, Harry did not even know the name of his 13-year-old granddaughter Daisy!

The bitter family feud started in the early ’90s, when Meg’s mother Susan Jordan and older sister Dana took issue with her then-husband actor Dennis Quaid’s drug use.

Meg remained at war with her family even after she divorced Dennis in 2001, but now they’re hoping she’s finally ready to forgive and forget.

A far cry from the world of Hollywood, Meg’s sister Dana, 57, earns just a few hundred dollars a week working at a supermarket on the opposite side of the US

in Massachusetts, while her younger sister Annie, 51, is struggling with health issues.

“Annie’s had a problem with her heart and she has some hip problems, so she’s disabled,” Harry says. “She’s getting divorced and she’s living with a friend. It’s kind of difficult.”

But the most strained relationship is between Meg and her mother, who reportedly started growing apart when Susan divorced Harry in 1976.

Meg didn’t invite her mum to her first wedding, and a regretful Susan doesn’t think she’ll be welcomed in to her daughter’s life again anytime soon. “I haven’t seen my daughter since 1989,” she says.
