Fans of hit true-crime podcast Dirty John are going crazy for the upcoming TV adaptation of the story on US cable channel Bravo – and Aussie actor Eric Bana is set to play the lead role!
The real-life story of “Dirty John” Meehan and his partner Julia Newell, who will be played by Connie Britton ( Nashville), will be explored in the first season of the show.
John and Julia met on an over-50s dating site in 2014 and quickly formed a relationship. It soon became apparent all was not as it seemed and John’s life was a carefully assembled web of lies.
To add to the brewing excitement, the drama will air alongside a documentary examining the facts of the intriguing case.
