Sonia’s secret heartache ‘I MISS MY DAD’

Last week, during a reading with celebrity psychic medium Harry T on Today Extra, the other Nine show she hosts, Sonia tearfully revealed she’s often reminded of her late father Adrian during filming – in particular when an artist covers a track by Johnny Cash, his favourite singer. “He was a massive fan, so whenever that happens it always gives me that chill,” said the 52-year-old.
Sonia says she finds it tough listening to Kelly Rowland talk about the loss of her mum, too.
“It affects me. I lost my own father when [my daughter] Maggie was six months old and I can relate to how she feels.”
She’s previously revealed she has a book of pictures of her dad she shows Maggie, now three, so she has memories of her granddad.
As for this year’s competition, Sonia says the public will have a tough decision to make in the finale. “The level of talent this year has been outstanding. They’re all so unique and in my eyes, they’re all winners for even stepping on to the stage.”
